Well, the end is nigh. Half an hour from now, I’ll be making my final post for this blogathon before trying to find my way to bed and then not rising from it until (hopefully) Monday. It’s been exhausting, but a lot of fun, and I’ve been able to spend my time reading a lot of fascinating blogs, not to mention getting to see what other people were getting up to to raise money for their charities. It made me feel rather unplanned in general (but then again, that’s my own fault, and I wouldn’t have it any other way).
I just hope everyone else has had as much fun as I have.

According to Wikipedia, today (July 26) is Parents Day in the US, and Independance Day (not involving giant alien spaceships blowing up the earth) in Liberia and the Maldives.
There is no page for Blogathon on Wikipedia.

Seriously. I’m running out of things to say here now. I’m watching a hunchback having a screaming fit on the top of a rock against a very pretty CGI backdrop, and debating the merits of another glass of orange juice versus cracking open the ice cream that I still haven’t touched yet.
…reading that back, if you took that one post out of context my life seems very surreal indeed, doesn’t it?

In the end, I decided to watch 300, complete with additional RiffTrax commentary to make it far more bearable. The humour should help me get through these last couple of hours.
It was very interesting watching this for the first time with Mr Sareini, and seeing him trying to reconcile his comic book geek self with his history geek self. Two hours of watching your partner struggle with the inner conflict of whether to enjoy the film or rant about the history is certainly interesting…

Right then. With, by my admittedly-wobbly count, there’s about two-and-a-half hours left in the blogathon. With that in mind, I’m going to find a movie to watch to while away those last couple of hours before it’s all over for another year.
I’m leaning towards something with zombies in it, although I could still change my mind on that…

Mr Sareini has finally gone to bed, after nearly an hour of telling me how tired he was feeling. I was developing the very strong urge to brain him with a handy blunt object, but managed to rein myself in (besides, his skull’s so thick that it would likely just break whatever I lamped him with). When I helped him take his stuff upstairs to bed, poor Suki assumed that I was going up to bed as well, and slowly got herself up the stairs and went straight to sit by the bed, waiting for me. Not for another three hours, sweetie.
Meanwhile, my friend Shannon who was with me (online at least) has rejoined me after being asleep all night, which is just another little way of driving home just how long I’ve been up and doing this for now…

A Jehovah’s Witness just called round, trying to see if we were interested in a Bible Study course of some kind. That was something to break up the repetition of the postings at this point, at least.
I always marvel at the way that most people, when faced with the visage of Mr Sareini (tall, heavily-built, hairy and scarred), wearing just a pair of tracksuit bottoms, opening the door to them, they don’t immediately announce that they have the wrong house and start backing away. I mean, I love the man dearly, don’t get me wrong, but “imposing” just isn’t a strong enough word for him sometimes.

Mr. Sareini has been up with me all night. Not because he was particularly interested or eager to help me with my blogathon endeavours – he still thinks I’m quite, quite mad for doing this – but because he’s been watching first wrestling DVDs and then season two of Heroes. And stealing my breakfast cereal.
Really, the cats are better helpers. All they do is sleep quietly and occasionally come up and sit at my feet waiting to be petted.
